In the majority of European Union countries, the basis of employment lies in written work contracts. However, in some nations, such contracts are only prevalent in specific scenarios, such as within the public sector, for apprentices, or individuals undergoing formal training within a company.
Given these diverse institutional arrangements, the concepts of "temporary job" and "work contract of limited duration" (similarly, "permanent job" and "work contract of unlimited duration") delineate situations that, under varying institutional frameworks, may appear similar.
A job is typically considered temporary if both the employer and employee understand that its termination is contingent upon objective conditions, such as reaching a specified date, completing a specific task, or the return of an employee temporarily replaced. In the case of a work contract of limited duration, the conditions for termination are usually outlined within the contract. Examples of individuals falling into these categories include:
a) Individuals employed for seasonal work,
b) Individuals engaged by an employment agency or business and assigned to a third party for a specific "work mission" (unless there is an indefinite contract with the employment agency or business),
c) Individuals with specific training contracts.
If there are no objective criteria for the termination of a job or work contract, they are typically considered permanent or of unlimited duration.
1. The client, an employer in need of workers, initiates the process by submitting an online Staff Requisition Form, outlining the job description and specifying other conditions and requirements. Alternatively, the client can convey their manpower needs via email, phone, or in-person at one of our offices or an agreed-upon location.
2. WISE BEGINNING TEMPORARY WORK UNIPESSOAL LDA responds by providing the client with a written proposal detailing the provision of temporary or long-term manpower. The proposal outlines the terms and conditions of the staffing arrangement.
3. Upon acceptance of the proposal, both parties proceed to sign a formal agreement that specifies the agreed-upon terms and conditions of the temporary staffing arrangement. A sample proposal is available for reference.
4. With the agreement in place, WISE BEGINNING TEMPORARY WORK UNIPESSOAL LDA undertakes the recruitment and selection process to fulfill the client's workforce requirements. The client has the option to participate in the recruitment process, if desired.
5. Once the recruitment process is completed, the client notifies WISE BEGINNING TEMPORARY WORK UNIPESSOAL LDA of the commencement date for the workers.
6. The selected workers then travel to the designated country of destination and settle into pre-arranged accommodation, ready to begin their assigned tasks.
Generally, WISE BEGINNING TEMPORARY WORK UNIPESSOAL LDA performs recruitment independently, taking full responsibility for the choices made and ensuring replacements if the selected workers do not live up to expectations.
