Energy is the ability to do work or cause change. It’s a fundamental concept in physics and is present in everything we do—moving, heating, lighting, growing, and even thinking.

Types of Energy

  1. Kinetic Energy
    Energy of motion.
Example: A moving car, flowing water, blowing wind.

  2. Potential Energy
Stored energy due to position or condition.
Example: Water stored in a dam, a stretched rubber band.

  3. Thermal Energy (Heat)
Energy from the movement of particles.
    Example: Fire, boiling water.

  4. Chemical Energy
    Stored in chemical bonds.
    Example: Food, batteries, fuel.

  5. Electrical Energy
    Energy from moving electric charges.
Example: Electricity in wires powering appliances.

  6. Nuclear Energy
Energy stored in the nucleus of atoms.
    Example: Nuclear power plants.

  7. Light (Radiant) Energy
    Energy carried by light waves.
    Example: Sunlight.
